DAAC
Alliance
The data management and user services arm of
the NASA Earth Observing System Data and Information System (EOSDIS).
The data centers process, archive, document, and distribute data
from NASA's past and current Earth-observing satellites and field
measurement programs.
|
 |
Earth
Observatory
The NASA
Earth Observatory presents new satellite imagery and scientific
information about the Earth with a particular focus on climate and
environmental change.
|
 |
Earth
Observing System (EOS) Home Page
This long-term global change research program
of the NASA Earth-Sun System Division is designed to improve the scientific understanding of Earth's
interrelated systems—land, oceans, air, ice, and biota.
EOS comprises a series of satellites, a science component, and
a data system.
|
 |
EOS ClearingHOuse (ECHO)
Supporting efficient discovery and access
to Earth Science data. ECHO is a metadata clearinghouse and order
broker being built by the NASA Earth Science Data and Information
System (ESDIS) Project.
|
 |
EOSDIS
Data Gateway (EDG)
The primary access point to Earth Observing System Data
and Information System (EOSDIS) and other NASA data holdings archived
at the DAAC Alliance data centers and several international data
centers. The goal of the EDG is: to provide seamless, online access
to these archives.
|
 |
The Earth Science Data and Information System (ESDIS)
Responsible
for providing scientific and other users access to data from the NASA
Earth-Sun Systems Division.
|
 |
The Federation of Earth Science Information Partners (ESIP)
Brings
together government agencies, universities, non-profit organizations,
and businesses in an effort to make Earth science information available
to a broader community.
|
 |
Global
Change Master Directory (GCMD)
The NASA GCMD holds more than 15,000 descriptions
of Earth science data sets and services covering all aspects of
Earth and environmental sciences.
|
 |
Goddard
Institute for Space Studies (GISS)
A laboratory
of the Earth-Sun Exploration Division of the NASA Goddard Space
Flight Center, and a unit of the Columbia University Earth Institute.
Research at GISS emphasizes a broad study of global climate change.
|
|
|
NASA
Science Mission Directorate
Its
goal: to use the unique
view from space to study, understand, and improve prediction of
climate, weather, and natural hazards. Through its nine data centers,
NASA provides interdisciplinary Earth science data products, information,
services and tools to improve life here on Earth.
